Alix Olson at Reel Pride Michigan TOMORROW NIGHT!!!!!

(ROYAL OAK) –  Michigan's largest film festival will end with a bang as controversial artist and activist ALIX OLSON will join the festivities.

Closing night for the Reel Pride Michigan GLBT Film Festival is expected to bring together broad range of activists and supporters from the GLBT community for an inspiring documentary about the adventures of ALIX OLSON. Reel Pride Michigan GLBT Film Festival's Closing Night Extravaganza will be held on Sunday, October, 28th starting at 8:00 p.m. at the Main Art Theatre in Royal Oak.

"Left Lane: On the Road with Folk Poet Alix Olson" features the lesbian icon and her musical buddies cruising in her red van across the country stopping along the way at conservative and liberal enclaves. Mimicking her live shows, Olson and her pals analyze various topics using fiery language mixed with sarcasm. In addition, the documentary shows interviews with her grandmother and mother speaking about what makes Olson tick.

Olson and film Director Samantha Farinella will make a special appearance at the Afterparty immediately following the screening. Catering and support are provided by Whole Foods Market and Absolut Vodka.

“'Left Lane" is an excellent documentary that explores many issues through the eyes of the witty and intelligent Alix Olson,” said Sean Kosofsky, Director of Policy for Triangle Foundation. “The Afterparty will be a perfect opportunity to meet Olson and Farniella and celbrate a fantastic festival.”
